REQUIRED PREREQUISITE: All applicants must have completed at least 3-6 months of missionary service in a cross-cultural setting (domestic or overseas) under the supervision of a career missionary.

Note: Youth pastor experience, camp counseling, or church volunteer work does NOT fulfill this requirement. You must have served under a career missionary in a cross-cultural field setting.

Section 7: Great Commission Essay (PREREQUISITE)

REQUIRED PREREQUISITE: Submit a 1,500-word essay addressing the prompts below. This essay demonstrates your theological understanding of mission and your readiness for missionary training.

Essay Prompts (address all four):

1. Great Commission Experience: What did you learn from your cross-cultural missionary experience (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:14-15, Luke 24:46, Acts 1:8, John 20:21)? Be specific about challenges, growth, and lessons learned.

2. Future Ministry Application: How will you employ what you learned during your missionary experience in your future ministry? Give concrete examples.

3. Evidence of Calling: What specific evidence do you have that God has called you to be a missionary? (Note: Dreams and feelings are not evidence. Fruit, confirmed calling through church leadership, providential circumstances, and tested commitment are evidence.)

4. Why Berean?: Why are you applying to Berean Bible College specifically? What attracts you to our "Languages First" approach and intensive missionary training model?
