John Bunyan was born in November 1628, in Elstow, England. In 1655, Bunyan became a deacon and began preaching. He started writing The Pilgrim's Progress in 1676 while imprisoned for preaching without a license. The Pilgrim's Progress, an allegory on the Christian life, was released in 1678 and is among the most widely read books and is regarded by many as one of the most significant religious works ever written. Don holds an honorary doctorate of literature from Biola University in La Mirada, California, is an ordained pastor, and speaks at more than 40 church conferences each year.
