Founder & Director
Dr. Tim James founded Berean Bible College to provide accessible, academically rigorous theological education grounded in careful biblical exegesis and free from the constraints of denominational doctrine.
Background:
After a distinguished 25-year career as a foot and ankle surgeon performing over 20,000 procedures, Dr. James devoted himself full-time to theological research, missionary service, and Christian education. His transition from medicine to ministry reflects a lifelong commitment to precise analysis—whether in the operating room or in Scripture.
Missionary Service:
Dr. James and his wife, Jeanne, served in Kenya (1995-96), managing missionary operations and developing educational programs that eventually led to the founding of Children's H.E.L.P., a nonprofit supporting girls' education. From 1999-2002, they conducted missionary work in Spain (Algeciras/Sotogrande), operating at the intersection of Muslim North Africa and Southern Europe. Dr. James twice briefed missionaries and NGOs in Malta on Islamic territorial behavior, radicalization networks, and operational security for Christian workers in Muslim contexts.
Theological Distinctives:
Dr. James' theological framework, developed through 40+ years of intensive biblical study, challenges conventional evangelical positions on:
- Cosmology: UP/DN framework demonstrating Paradise exists in Sheol beneath the earth, not heaven above
- Tree of Life: Biblical evidence that it still exists in Paradise rather than having been destroyed
- Eschatology: Restoration theology integrating Divine Council worldview with careful prophetic interpretation
- Christ's Return: Egypt→Bozrah→Jerusalem geographical sequence rather than standard rapture/tribulation models
Educational Philosophy:
Berean Bible College emphasizes:
- "Languages First" approach to biblical education
- Integration of Michael Heiser's Divine Council scholarship
- Comprehensive resource library (Inner Sanctum Bookstore)
- Partnership with Logos Bible Software
- Missionary Training Institute curriculum
- Accessible online format for global reach
Current Work:
Beyond Berean Bible College, Dr. James publishes "The Day Watch" newsletter, providing geopolitical intelligence analysis interpreted through the lens of biblical prophecy. His recent focus includes the Iran crisis, BRICS+ economic warfare, Islamic infiltration of Western institutions, and the convergence of the prophetic timeline.
Dr. James is the author of the seven-volume "Restoration Series" (available on Amazon), presenting his distinctive theological framework through careful biblical exegesis and scholarly research.
Personal:
A licensed ham radio operator, Dr. James monitors space weather and seismic activity from his Orange County, California, coastal location. An experienced sailor with 20,000+ nautical miles logged (including Mediterranean circumnavigation and transatlantic crossing), he brings systematic analytical skills to both practical challenges and theological inquiry.
Why Berean Bible College Is Different
1. Languages First
"If you don't understand the original language… how can you comprehend the context of the original author... or of God Himself?!"
Most Bible colleges teach students about the Bible before teaching them to read the Bible. We require Biblical language proficiency before admission.
